“I love creating in chaos”: Odeal on his days as a fencing instructor and love of all things creative

BY EE72

Ahead of his All Point East appearance, we asked Afro-R&B artist Odeal 7 Questions 2 Get to Know him.

After rising to fame with his 2024 single Soh-Soh, British-Nigerian singer-songwriter Odeal has been on the ascent to stardom. After spending his early childhood moving across Europe (Germany to Spain, then to the UK), it was in Nigeria as a teenager that Odeal – full name Hillary Dennis Udanoh – discovered his burning passion for music. After honing his craft, he began uploading covers of Frank Ocean tracks to YouTube before releasing his first EP New Time in 2017.

In 2026, following a sold-out show at O2 Academy Brixton, the Afro-R&B artist released his seventh extended play, For A Good Time…, a seven-track project that combines summer vibrancy with emotional introspection, and features a collaboration with British singer Jorja Smith. He plans on serenading his fans with his latest releases across Europe for the remainder of the year as he supports global R&B star Kehlani on her tour. We caught up with the artist ahead of his festival appearance at London’s All Points East to ask him 7 things 2 help get to know him.
