After a six-year hiatus from solo music, the British-Nigerian grime pioneer returns with Fork & Knife, a club-ready album shaped by his house music label Más Tiempo.
Skepta is booked and busy. The British-Nigerian grime pioneer is ending his six-year hiatus from music releases with a new album, Fork & Knife, due later this year. “Full of club music”, the project reflects the influence of Más Tiempo — the house music record label and events series he launched in 2023 with fellow grime artist Jammer. This summer, Skepta will take Más Tiempo to Ibiza, hosting 23 shows every Saturday between May and October. If that wasn’t enough, his luxury streetwear brand MAINS could also be returning to the runway in September, following a successful Spring 2026 showcase at London Fashion Week. When he’s not in the studio or behind the decks in Ibiza, there’s plenty keeping Skepta fulfilled — from a quick visit to his favourite Italian restaurant to binge-watching fashion reality TV. Here, he shares what makes him tick.
The first thing I do in the morning is… wake up the kids for school.
I describe my music as… motivational.
The album I’ll never get tired of is… Ignorance Is Bliss.
My go-to restaurant in London is… Cecconi’s.
My coffee order is… an iced vanilla latte with almond milk.
My favourite shoes in my current rotation are… my Puma Skopes.
My guilty pleasure is… watching Next in Fashion on repeat. My dream collaborator is… Sarah Burton.
A place I go to get inspired is… Koh Samui, Thailand. The last film I watched was… The Killer starring Michael Fassbender.
My tour essentials are… a portable speaker, a portable charger and a gym bag full of training stuff.
A place that feels like home to me is… Nigeria. My most treasured posession is… my MacBook.
If I could relive a day of my life, it would be… when me and Sammy Virji [performed back-to-back shows] at Fabric and Unlocked in Shoreditch.
My signature scent is… Imagination by Louis Vuitton.
The last piece of art that caught my attention was by… an artist whose Instagram is @byjasminz. The piece I love is called Jummah.
My current creative ritual is… a night-time drive.
A day spent in the studio usually consists of… lots of laughter with friends.
