ROLE OVERVIEW

EE72 is seeking a knowledgeable and culturally attuned Freelance Beauty Editor to lead and shape the brand’s beauty coverage across print and digital. This role will define how beauty is explored within the wider context of fashion, identity and contemporary culture — spanning identity, make-up, hair and wellness through a distinctly editorial lens.

Working closely with the Executive Content Director, Editorial Director and wider team, the Beauty Editor will commission, write and edit stories, bringing both expertise and a clear point of view. The ideal candidate will combine strong industry knowledge with an instinct for what feels relevant, directional and culturally resonant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development of EE72’s beauty editorial output across print and digital platforms.
• Conceptualise, commission, write and edit beauty stories to a world-class standard, spanning features, profiles, service-led content and cultural commentary.
• Define a distinctive beauty perspective that aligns with EE72’s broader editorial voice and visual identity.
• Identify and champion emerging talent, brands and movements within the beauty space.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brands, founders, PRs and industry insiders.
• Partner with the Social Editor to ensure key beauty stories are translated into engaging, platform-native content.
• Contribute to editorial planning, pitching ideas and identifying opportunities for covers, shoots and special projects.
• Maintain a strong awareness of trends, innovation and shifts within the beauty industry globally.
• Uphold the highest standards of editorial integrity, ensuring all content is accurate, original and aligned with EE72’s voice and values.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Significant editorial experience within beauty, fashion or lifestyle media.
• Strong knowledge of the beauty industry, including products, brands, talent and trends.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to balance authority with accessibility.
• Proven experience commissioning and developing content and contributors.
• Strong cultural awareness and an understanding of how beauty intersects with fashion, identity and culture.
• Established relationships across beauty brands, PRs and industry professionals.
• Ability to work independently in a freelance capacity while collaborating closely with a wider editorial team.
• A clear point of view on contemporary beauty and its role within modern storytelling.
